My Father went from ER to ICU to the Cardiac Telemetry floor after his second trip to SAH for Afib in 9 days. Diane took care of my dad during his stay. She helped us understand what was happening with my father, patiently answered any additional questions we had, offered suggestions and tips and even shared little tidbits of info about her family as she worked, as if a friendly neighbor stopped by for a visit. Whenever my mother and I came to see Dad (twice a day for 2-3 hours or more) she saw us and came to update on Dad's progress even before we got "suited up" for entering his isolation room.
Diane has that extra degree of loving kindness that brings tears to my eyes, even now. I wish I had given her the hug that I felt the urge to give her the last time I saw her.
