Diane spent time working with the police to do a welfare check, providing pertinent information to the police to assist them, along with next of kin phone contact.
Recently, Diane Vetter was working in PSE doing phone calls. She had a patient she could not get ahold of, after trying all day.
She contacted the clinic for follow-up, she also called the patient's pharmacy to see if he showed up to get the prescription he was supposed to start. And called the sister to see if she had any other numbers to reach this patient.
Finally, after multiple attempts to reach the patient, the patient answered the phone. After reviewing the patient's history and having a conversation with the patient, she was very concerned about the patient's current state of health.
Diane states she had a bad feeling about this patient and wanted to know what the next step could or should be. I told Diane to do a welfare check involving the police to check on the patient.

Follow up phone call to Diane from the patient's sister was to thank Diane for saving the patient's life, the patient was admitted that evening to CHI.
