Just when I thought I would not be prouder, or luckier, that I work here and that I have the most amazing coworkers, someone just shines so brightly, it cannot go unnoticed, or unrecognized. The Consistency of excellence this person has shown over the years, the leadership that is kind and reliable, and the gentleness in her care, Ednalyn Viesca just embodies the nurse that represents TMMC. The patients she endorses say nothing less than “she is an angel” and “she is such a blessing” and my patients are always in great shape (meaning – clean, the room is organized, and the report is impeccable) when I receive them from her. She has a clinical sharpness and definitely a team player.

I have worked at night a few times to help out and Ednalyn is the person who rushes to help, who is immediate in action, who does not dwell in negativity, and who is solution focused. She comes into the room knowing what to do and at the same time has a great compassionate heart. And it’s because of this heart that I’m writing this now.

A patient who is a mom to an 11-year-old who is having a birthday shared with her how sad and frustrated she is that she cannot celebrate her child. Her husband had passed away and he is being cared for by his older siblings. She just wished he could at least have cake. Ednalyn wrote down her address and will deliver a cake for him today. As a mom, she knows the love of a mother and the pain of not being there for her child. My wish is she gets recognized and celebrated for the things she does every day; going above and beyond as a nurse, and as a human being.
