Liz was our L&D nurse for the heart of the most eventful day of our lives! Liz started the day with us. We joked that we’d be there a while and we’d have to follow up with her to let her know if we had a boy or girl and our baby’s name. Little did we know she wouldn’t miss a thing! Liz was incredibly thorough and comforting! She ensured that I (and my husband) were more than cared for and explained every step of the process so there were no surprises. Little did we know there would be plenty of those! The doctor broke my water at 8 am. I was so nervous to get my epidural because I didn’t have great experiences in the past. Liz distracted me by coaching me through it and asking about how my husband and I met (it worked)! By around 12:30 pm I had only progressed to 4cm. Liz’s equally incredible colleagues insisted she go to lunch. We joked that “we’d still be here” when she got back. Her response was, “You never know; things can happen quickly”. And they did!! Next thing we know, our baby is ready to come into the world. Like a cannonball! Next thing we know, Liz is by my side, in complete control, calming me down, motivating me to be strong, and coaching my husband! Our very own superwoman! We had a boy, and we are honored Liz was there to support us and our son through it all! We are eternally grateful to Liz and the entire team!
