Betsy’s ability to connect with people, paired with her warmth and professionalism, creates a supportive work environment that positively impacts both the patients and her coworkers.
Betsy is an exceptional nurse and one of the most caring individuals I have ever known. She is wholeheartedly dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care every time. Betsy’s ability to connect with people, paired with her warmth and professionalism, creates a supportive work environment that positively impacts both the patients and her coworkers.
When acting as PCC she never fails to help other nurses in every way possible. She never asks if anyone needs help, without hesitation, she sees a need and acts on it. Betsy oftentimes picks up extra shifts and works outside of her primary role of PCC, to care for patients. Her patients absolutely love her and always ask for her by name. She never fails to ensure the care that she provides goes above and beyond what is “required.” She is always there to give good advice when a nurse is dealing with a difficult patient. Betsy never oversteps or attempts to overshadow the primary nurse with the patient. She works quietly behind the scenes, never drawing attention or seeking recognition for all of her hard work.
A while back, when I was a tech, I worked a split shift, 7p to 12a. Working half of the night, knowing I had to report back to the hospital at 6 am the next morning for my clinical rotation. She opened her home to me and offered for me to spend the night, keeping me from having to commute an hour home and back. In addition, when I graduated and began working as a nurse, Betsy purchased me a scrub jacket so I would have one.
With over 30 years of experience, she has precepted countless new nurses and her ceaseless patience with each one never waivers. Betsy is a true mentor and is known as the “go-to” person for everything on 2T.
Betsy never leaves a shift without a smile on her face, no matter how hard the day was. She is who we all aspire to be and is truly amazing, both inside and out. Betsy’s unwavering dedication to her role and genuine compassion make her an invaluable asset to the patients, coworkers, and the nursing profession.
