Emily has a kind and compassionate heart. She shows empathy by “putting” herself in her clients’ and parents’ shoes to build a trusting relationship. She consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She spent time orienting overnight shifts and day shifts in a client's home to be able to assist the family when the FT nurse went on maternity leave and the client’s mother delivered her newborn. This nurse will also schedule herself in her other client homes due to the home needing a FT nurse or the current nurse being on vacation.

One of her clients was going to be transferred from the local emergency department to an acute care hospital. The client’s mother needed a few items from their home and Emily went and gathered those items to allow the mother to stay with her child in the emergency room. This nurse is willing to help others in the office as well. If someone has a question, she gives her full attention to ensure the proper answer is given. The time Emily spends communicating with the field staff and clients’ families has such a positive impact on her relationship with them. This nurse keeps a positive attitude and puts her best effort forward to get the job completed.
