He was consistent in his care for my dad. He was patient and understanding.
My dad arrived on a Friday for skilled care following a stroke. His first nurse was Eric Struve and he was the best. He showed my dad great respect, while always having a sense of humor, which my dad loved! We knew just by listening to and watching Eric with my dad, that he was the real deal. He was consistent in his care for my dad. He was patient and understanding. He went above and beyond. He not only made sure that my dad was ok, but also my family, my mom, my daughter and myself. He always took his time with my dad, never rushing, And even though we arrived Friday, and there would be no physical therapy for 3 days, Eric went out of his way to take my dad for walks multiple times a day, so that dad didn't have to just lay around. He showed so much interest in everything my dad talked about. My dad is very hard of hearing and people tend to talk to us instead of dad because it is easier. But that always leaves dad out and not knowing what is going on. But again, Eric went above and beyond, he learned quickly how to communicate with dad and always spoke to him. There is so much more and not enough paper. We can not say enough good about Eric. He made a tough situation easier for us all. We sure wish there were more in the nursing field like Eric, with his care and compassion. Thank you Eric!
