Fabienne Oukessou was one of the most caring, empathetic nurses I have ever encountered, and that says a lot because I work in a nursing school. Fabienne took the time to listen to our family member as they recounted their time during WW2 and shared stories about their brother’s time in France, which is Fabienne’s home country. Fabienne also took the time explaining their condition and the plan of care. It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to congratulate Fabienne, as it is difficult to put one person above the outstanding caregivers and employees of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. The entire staff should receive recognition, but I do feel Fabienne is a very special nurse, and again this comes from someone who has an extremely high regard for nurses.
