As our organization looked for a way to recognize the extraordinary care our nurses provide daily to our patients we began to explore the DAISY Foundation. At about the same time, I met Ginny Olney - a volunteer at our organization. In our brief conversation she shared that she in fact was a nurse herself. The words she used to describe nursing were simply inspiring and heart-warming and made me even more proud to say, "I am a nurse".

Her passion for nursing was evident and was the perfect fit for our goal to recognize nurses through the DAISY Foundation. Without a second thought she became part of the team. She has been a dedicated sponsor of our DAISY Award since 2009. She attended every DAISY presentation and without fail always made a point to embrace each DAISY recipient with a warm hug and say, "I am so proud of you, thank you".

On behalf of all of the nurses at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, I would like to take this opportunity to nominate Ginny Olney, our very own DAISY recipient. Over the past 3 years she has provided extraordinary care for our nurses in implementing the DAISY Award program at our organization. We will be forever thankful for your contribution to the profession and serving as an inspiration for all of us. We know your spirit will continue to be with us each and every month a new DAISY is recognized. Thank you Ginny.
