Her confidence, positivity, and efficiency helped me relax and calmed my fears.
I met Gloria on 4 occasions when she expertly, efficiently, and seamlessly placed Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) lines before my chemo treatments. I appreciated her from the moment I first met her! She was warm, down to Earth, professional, and expertly skilled at these insertions. She treated me with respect; explaining the procedure in a language I could understand. Her confidence, positivity, and efficiency helped me relax and calmed my fears. I felt safe and under control in her care. She is an amazing teacher as each time we met her she was teaching her less experienced colleagues as she worked. It was obvious that they respected and admired her and were eager to learn from her. In addition to teaching them, she was quick to acknowledge the good work that they did during these procedures. I cannot remember how many PICC line insertions she said she had done at Sanford...it was in the thousands. She is literally the BEST at what she does. And she accompanies that expertise with an amazing personality. My wife and I looked forward to seeing her on those days as she was a ray of sunshine starting out those tough chemo days. We knew she would take good care of me...body, heart, and soul. I know Gloria is nearing retirement and is so very worthy of praise for the tremendous care she has provided to thousands of patients at Sanford.
