Hayley encompasses every aspect of the core values here at Children's. Hayley recently took over the Clinical Instructor (Cl) position on the Neuroscience Unit (NSU) and has really enhanced our New Graduate orientation to the unit. She has created new games such as BINGO and LIFE. In BINGO, the new nurses fill in a square for each different nursing skill they complete. For the game LIFE, the preceptors get to race each other after reaching set goals/answering questions. The games keep the nurses and their preceptors engaged throughout the 12-week orientation process.

Over these last few weeks, Haley has also stepped in to do charge as well as take assignments to help on the unit. She remains a diligent member of our unit Shared Nursing Leadership (SNL) and Practice Council, as well as a few others that she attends on a monthly basis. She has started to revamp and initiate multiple unit-based Nursing Practice Guidelines (NPGs). I was precepted by Hayley and truly value all of the information and knowledge that she has passed on to me and I know that it is truly valuable to all of our other nurses, as well!
