To see firsthand how Dad’s care was given was truly a gift. When I think of “being right here with you,” I will forever think of Hayley. She is truly working in her gift and is an angel on earth.
I wanted to send a special thank you to Hayley; she was the nurse who cared for my father-in-law this past Sunday night through Monday morning when he transitioned. Haley’s compassion and care for not only my father-in-law but also my mother-in-law was everything that anyone would want for their family. She was so attentive, caring, and patient. Taking time to make sure that mom understood everything that was going on and carefully explaining the process of allowing dad to transition. She answered all of our questions. She didn’t rush anything, she simply explained with care and gave mom the information and time that she needed to make her decision to discontinue treatment. Mom is a woman of faith, and Hayley even took the time to pray with her. When she saw that mom was having a hard time, she offered to have the Chaplin to come in and pray with her as well. Chaplin Dodge came and was excellent! He was able to relate to her as they are both natives of Reidsville and believers in God! He was truly a comfort to her and by the time he left she had a big smile on her face. As a CH employee, I could not be more proud to have been a part of the CH family in those moments. Hayley did not know that I was an employee and I don't think it would have mattered, she could not have given any better care than she did. To see firsthand how Dad’s care was given was truly a gift. When I think of “being right here with you,” I will forever think of Hayley. She is truly working in her gift and is an angel on earth. The icing on the cake was the hug that she gave mom before we left. It was genuine and heartfelt. Thank you Hayley, our family will forever hold you near to our hearts.
