With my nurse, Heath, it was a good experience the moment he walked into my hospital room. I can tell when a person cares from the look in their eyes. Heath gave me eye contact the whole time I was talking with him. He truly cares for his patients. Being in the worst pain I have ever experienced, he was checking in on me constantly and making sure my meds were given to me on time to provide the relief I needed. If I was able to request Heath to be my nurse on all shifts, I would. He truly cares and goes above and beyond, all while doing his job by the book, and that’s why I believe he deserves this award. I’m pretty sure I’m not the first and won’t be the last to say this about Heath. Not only does he provide exceptional care, but he makes you feel great about a new day. I pray he continues this great work.

By the time we ran into Heath, we had spent nine nights sleeping in hospitals, caring for our daughter. It was a real pleasure to come across Heath. He took the time to explain the different medications that our daughter was taking, what they were designed to treat, and what potential side effects could be. All these nights were long nights, but knowing what to expect, and why our daughter was reacting the way she was reacting was a real comfort. Heath helped us understand the unknown and explained in a very professional manner what was going on with our daughter. He was kind and patient, had nice bedside manners, and really took care of all of us. We also know he had many other patients to care for, but he never acted rushed. Heath is a true professional, and he only makes your team better. We came across quite a few very good nurses, but in the middle of the night, when the staff is low, and the activity is low, I was glad you had someone like Heath who really knows what’s going on. I can’t say enough about the job that he did for our daughter. This young man can help your other younger nurses see what great looks like. Thank you, Heath!
