Holly takes the time to really listen to her patients. Even when it seems like her day cannot get any busier, she'll take the time to find an extra sugar packet for a patient's oatmeal or locate an additional creamer. One day during the summer she had a patient who had been in the hospital for weeks. It was apparent that he was becoming depressed and losing hope. Holly took the time to arrange for him to be taken outside and spend an hour in the sun. The turn his attitude took after that experience was very inspiring. Holly realizes that things that may seem small to us can mean the world to a patient.
...
She's very caring and compassionate about her patients. She is a team player and helps the new nurses that come on board.
...
She is the best nurse in the whole hospital. I've seen how she cares for the veteran she's working with . . . . shows integrity with everyone. She shows commitment to her patient and goes above and beyond her call to duty. I know if I was sick or hurt I will ask for her to take care of me.
...
She is always treating patients, family, staff and student nurses with absolute respect and pride. She is always in teaching mode and looks for any and every opportunity to teach whoever is willing to listen/learn. Holly truly is I CARE.
