When Jackie was introduced to us, we immediately bonded and felt that there was something very special about her.
Our journey started at Norwalk Hospital in Labor & Delivery Monday night. After getting induced and waiting to deliver, we met several phenomenal nurses along our way. Finally, on Wednesday morning, we had a C-Section, which brought us to the Maternity Ward where we met Jackie the following day. When Jackie was introduced to us, we immediately bonded and felt that there was something very special about her. She was kind, honest, funny and so easy to talk to and joke around with. She made us feel as if we were family. As two new, young parents, Jackie offered wisdom and a sense of calmness every day when she walked through our door. She was the only nurse that stayed consistent with us for 3 of our 5 days at the hospital. We looked forward to seeing her every morning at 7 am. You could tell by the way our eyes lit up. She made sure that I was always comfortable, never in pain and I had everything that I needed. Jackie also made my husband laugh and feel welcomed, which is so important. Words cannot describe how lucky we feel to have met Jackie during our stay at Norwalk Hospital. Our biggest regret is not exchanging addresses or phone numbers to stay in touch. My husband and I both cried as we left and pulled away while Jackie waved goodbye. Someday, we plan to bring our new son back and reconnect. Jackie, if you get the chance to read this, please understand how very special you are to us and how much gratitude we have for everything that you did.
