It is with great appreciation and pure gratefulness that I'm writing this letter to all of you. Words come difficult in expressing my family's gratitude in the wonderful care and compassion you all provided for my father in his last days. I've written this letter in my head several times and still can't make it convey the endearing thoughts I have of my father and the care he received in 3 South.
Your whole team was magnificent in seeing to Dad's comfort and needs. Dad has always been a modest individual and it was reflected by everyone there in providing him with the respect and dignity he so richly deserved. It indeed takes a special kind of person to provide this type of care on a daily basis. It takes an amazing person. Each of your team is just that!
I would especially like to recognize Jamie Schalle. Dad took great comfort in her personal adoption of him, as a patient, as a person whose life was drifting away. Not only were her efforts nothing shy of brilliant but, Dad recognized the connective care of words, and discussions with the rest of the family. We were humbled in Jamie's kindness and support. Thank you, again, Jamie.
Dad chose his directive and passed in comfort and peace. Of course, the family will remember him in our hearts and in our thoughts but, in that remembrance is the nature of his passing. He was gifted to have such thoughtful caregivers in 3 South. All of your efforts will be remembered!

My 77-year-old wife recently spent 4 days/nights at Riverview. I have been in numerous hospitals over the years in New York, Philadelphia, Naples FL, and several times Riverview for a variety of procedures. Thankfully, my wife has only had a couple of orthopedic operations until recently.
She was admitted to Riverview about a month ago for 3 days for blood pressure issues, and again last Saturday for the same problems. After 4 days of adjusting medications and monitoring heart rate, etc. she was discharged. Thus far, her BP has been normalized and she seems to be doing well.
The purpose of this letter is to thank all the folks who took such great care of us and to let you know of one special person who stood out among all the rest for her personal interest and care in our situation. Of all of the hospitals and medical professionals either one of us has encountered, Jaime Schalle is far and away, the best caregiver we have ever known. Jamie is professional, dedicated, and knowledgeable to be sure. What makes her rise above the rest, however despite having many other patients to attend to, she is never too busy to sit and take to you and try to address your specific problems.
In short, Jamie is what all medical professionals should strive to be: attentive, kind, caring, patient, professional, and nurturing. She is a gem. You are lucky to have her because she brings great honor to your hospital and adds to Riverview's reputation as a place where patients can receive great care.
