She has kept us updated and answered any questions.  Janice has really been the calm during the storm, and I am so grateful for her.
Janice has been such an incredible addition to our Passport team since the day she arrived in the U.S. She goes above and beyond for her work, her patients, and ensures the care she provides is top tier. As a mother of three, she focuses on ensuring that the care she provides to her patients is the care she as a mother would want for her own children. Janice has received so much recognition from her facility, patients, and leadership both at CHOA and at PPUSA. In her most recent feedback provided by her evaluator, the Assistant Nurse Manager in the PICU gave Janice 5 stars across the board and had the following feedback, "Janice has been a wonderful addition to our PICU team. She shows up to each and every shift with a smile and ready to work hard. She is able to clinically manage high acuity patients and serves as a great resource to her peers. She is always finding time to check in on her neighbors to help them get through busy shifts."

Janice was asked to share a little information about her experiences since coming to the United States, and yet again, she went ABOVE AND BEYOND with her response, providing an entire PowerPoint presentation titled, "Life as a Pediatric Nurse." In her presentation, she stated, "There are challenges as an international nurse … new country … new workplace … language barrier/accent … I survive (navigate) every single day … all things clarified and not jeopardizing patient safety, making sure care rendered … same way I want for my kids if admitted to the hospital … parents/families at the same time … recognizing and valuing them."

A patient shared, "Janice has been very kind and welcoming during our stay.  She has kept us updated and answered any questions.  Janice has really been the calm during the storm, and I am so grateful for her. I never mind asking questions/help rather than making a mistake since we’re handling precious lives … and being mindful that… if it’s not charted, then it is not done."

Her colleague wanted to recognize her for the amazing work she does!  He is impressed with the strong ways that she cares for her patients and he is so grateful to work alongside her.  He said, "Keep up the great work, your colleagues notice and are loving having you as part of their team!"
