The moment that Jasmine walked into the room and introduced herself as my overnight nurse, my fears melted away.
As someone who has had traumatic, near-death experiences in a hospital before, I was very worried about coming to the hospital and having major surgery. I was especially worried when I realized that my family would not be able to spend the night with me and I would be alone away from home in what could be a painful or stressful situation. The moment that Jasmine walked into the room and introduced herself as my overnight nurse, my fears melted away. She was warm, funny, empathetic, and immediately felt like family. She reassured my family and made them fully heard and comfortable. She answered all my questions and explained everything she was doing in not just a professional manner, but in a deeply human way.
As she helped me to walk for the first time since my surgery, she cheered me on- held me up both physically and emotionally. I truly felt that beyond being my nurse, Jasmine was a deeply positive presence during the crucial hours of my recovery. Her lighthearted native, warm, demeanor, and clear knowledge and professionalism shone through the night. I am grateful that god sent me Jasmine to be the angel I needed to get through recovery. I know she will be a blessing to many others.
