Jaymi tells me that she is still relatively new on staff, but after our first interaction tonight, I knew I was in good hands.
I have been in and out of this hospital both as an inpatient, observation patient and ER patient more times than not, at least it seems. For the majority of my stays, my care has been very comforting. But I wanted to take a moment here to recognize Jaymi from my most recent ER visit.
Jaymi tells me that she is still relatively new on staff, but after our first interaction tonight, I knew I was in good hands. Jaymi took her time in explaining everything that was going on, what tests were being looked at, and potential game plans for probable diagnosis (it was a broad conversation since the limitation on her ability to state a diagnosis is above her pay grade). That put no restrictions on her attitude and willingness to go above and beyond. She consistently checked on me and my pain level and tried to make any boredom or loneliness as minimal as possible. Jaymi may still be on the newer side of her employment here, but I hope SGMC takes extra steps on its end to make sure she can continue to grow in her career here. Shady Grove is very lucky to have her on staff, and if I have the misfortune of coming back to the ER due to uncontrollable circumstances, I would look forward to – and be grateful – if she was on my care team. You made a perfect choice bringing her on. Sometimes a ‘thank you’ and a DAISY nomination does not seem enough, but I do hope I accurately expressed my gratitude for her personal and professional attitude throughout my stay.
