This was a sleepy department when Jennifer and I started working together, just the two of us, about seven years ago. Many times we were out of the loop when it came to receiving information and required training. We needed a way for our department to be recognized. We really needed our own leader and Jennifer agreed to fill that role. With her leadership, we are thriving. We treat many more patients and of necessity have increased our staff from two to four RNs. In addition to managing the clinical side of things, she is also responsible for the workflow in the office. This is a special unit and we all work well together as a team. Our culture of care at HMC is "Patients are first" and I think that our practice at the Gamma Knife Center reflects that. Jennifer deserves the credit for bringing us to this level.

Jennifer has been and continues to be an extraordinary leader at Gamma Knife. She has done an incredible job transforming Gamma Knife into what it is now. Jennifer has put together a great team of individuals who work cohesively together and interface well with doctors and other support staff to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Jennifer has been the sole driving force in putting together and maintaining SOPs and other documentation essential for following procedures, tracking patient data, training effective staff and encouraging an atmosphere of continual improvement. Jennifer is extremely knowledgeable, well organized, communicates effectively, as well as being very knowledgeable with the Gamma Knife equipment and machine. Working with Jennifer is both a pleasure, an honor, and an example on continual improvement for the betterment of not only our own skills and abilities, but of ensuring the best quality of support for patients, doctors, and staff.

Without question, Jennifer puts the needs of the patient first. But, what makes Jennifer stand out in my mind is that she is a skilled administrator who cares about patients so much that she works tirelessly on creative solutions to help our patients. Our cancer and brain tumor patients often have complicated clinical and social needs. She runs our center always with this in mind and the patients feel well cared for as a result.

Jennifer always goes the extra mile to provide excellent and compassionate care for our patients and is often going above and beyond behind the scene to make sure that patients get treated in a timely manner and with as little hassle as possible. This is a huge benefit to our patient population as they are often dealing with many medical appointments and treatments that might be delayed or impossible if they don't get speedy treatment for their brain metastases. She is an incredible leader and a role model for her co-workers and it is not a stretch at all to say that she is beloved by us all.
