Jennifer graduated from St. Vincent's and after passing the NCLEX, came to her first choice hospital and obtained her first position here as an RN. Both her mother and Aunt are nurses and this influenced her decision to become an RN. Her mother ran a clinic and Jennifer, who was always there after school saw the interactions between her mother and the patients. Her aunt was instrumental in initiating the Heart Failure Program here at Maimonides.

When told that she was to receive the DAISY Award, Jennifer said: "I just take care of my patients, everyone on the floor should get the award, we all work together with the patients and each other."

Jennifer's first year of working nights has been a challenge and a big adjustment, but Jennifer said to herself if they can do it (her preceptors and the other staff), I can do it. On working nights, Jennifer says "you have to depend on your coworkers for support. NB2 is the perfect place to start working. There is so much to learn. Patients do not just have CHF or A Fib, they have so many other co-morbidities. It is a great learning opportunity."
