Jenny was my nurse when I was induced at 37 weeks, 4 days due to a high blood pressure concern that had been a factor for less than a week of my pregnancy. My baby was healthy and thus delivery was an option. Jenny engaged with me as labor progressed. She did so many important things that made an impact on my delivery. She honored my choice to give birth naturally. She offered medications for pain at my request. She offered me alternatives and seemed to know just how long to be in the room with my husband and me and exactly when she should leave the room. Such a delicate skill to master! She noted when my pain level became too much for me and had my doctor offer a dilation check to assist me in either continuing to manage contractions or change my birthing plan. So appreciated! This dilation check helped me KNOW what I needed to do and allowed me to confidently change my birth plan. Thanks to Jenny, I am proud and confident regarding the birthing plan choices I made. When my baby boy showed distress due to heartbeat issues, Jenny calmly monitored and assessed. She informed me but did not cause me stress. After my baby was vaginally delivered, I became aware that a C-section room was prepped. Jenny communicated with the doctor about my needs and my baby's best outcome. She successfully led the nursing team to deliver my baby, care for me, and had an emergency plan in place to also ensure all efforts could be executed. All of this without causing me stress! AND I still feel I was fully informed. I cannot praise Jenny enough for bonding with me about the care I received trusting my baby was safe!
