I have unfortunately been on the other side of the bed several times in the past year. Jeremy has been my nurse twice in the ER and has been not only professional but amazingly compassionate and honestly caring towards me. The last visit, I came after the change of shift and Jeremy volunteered to take me as a patient even though his shift had not officially started yet. He had remembered the history of my year-long struggle and I had to fill in very few gaps. I'm a nurse and not the easiest patient. I tend to try and direct my own care. To not only stand up and volunteer to be my nurse but then to treat me with empathy and compassion even though I know I am a difficult patient shows what kind of character this nurse has. I know that I was in excellent non-judgmental hands. When you are a nurse, it is awkward to be a patient, especially with peers. Jeremy took the awkwardness away!
