When my water broke at 3 am on May 29, I was terrified and excited to say the least. I had been on bedrest for 3 weeks due to hypertension and I was 2 ½ weeks early. We were admitted to Labor and Delivery at 4 am. After waiting for a couple of hours to see if I progressed on my own, it was 6 am and time for shift change with the nursing staff and on call doctor. I was terrified, what if I wasn't comfortable with my new RN, because the nurse who admitted me was so incredibly nice! Little did I know, when Jessie walked in, it would be the best thing for me. She was so incredibly calming and reassuring throughout the whole delivery process.
Jessie started my Pitocin and very quickly my labor progressed. Due to my blood pressure staying high, an epidural was a good option to try to drop my blood pressure. Jessie was very informative about it and made me feel comfortable about saying yes to the epidural I originally thought I did not want. When time arrived for my epidural, Jessie held my hands and kept me as calm as possible while my body was having intense contractions. In no time at all, my epidural was in, and we started to push to bring our little girl into the world. Jessie never left my side and was so helpful when it came to finding how to push productively when I couldn't feel anything from my waist down. At 10:30 am our baby girl was born, a time Jessie had guessed earlier that morning. After I delivered, we worked on skin to skin and breastfeeding and did not have the chance to thank Jessie for being the best possible RN I could have asked for, she had been called into another delivery. My mother and my husband, both of whom were in my delivery room, both agreed that Jessie was an incredible RN and made my labor and delivery so smooth.
The whole experience was so amazing to me, and I contribute the majority of that to Jessie. She has truly found her calling in life as an RN because I can't imagine my delivery without her. If I could have hand-picked an RN to have in the room with me, it would definitely be Jessie Erickson, RN. Words will never be able to express my appreciation for the love Jessie puts into her job.

Jessie was involved in my care from the very beginning. She truly helped me through one of the scariest moments of my life and calmed and supported me when I needed it. Jessie truly helped me get through several rough days and made me feel as if I was her only patient with the care she provided. Her compassion, dedication to her job, and support will never be forgotten. My husband and I fell in love with her quickly and are beyond grateful for everything she did for us! We could not have asked for a better nurse.
