Joan on a continuous basis shows exemplary care of her patients. She never short cuts her patient's care and takes the time to provide massage and lotion and laundry for patients. She makes sure all of the little duties are covered to help the unit flow smoothly. She always volunteers to work extra hours when needed, coming in at any hour to accommodate staff and employees. She is one of the best nurses I have worked with!
***
She spends half and hours talking to a patient to ensure they feel comfortable and those they are heard and cared for.
***
Joan goes above and beyond to ensure that the patients' needs are being met. Joan takes the extra time to care for patients and lends a hand whenever other staff is in need.
***
Joan is so incredibly caring. She goes above and beyond to ensure her patients receive the care they need. She will do anything and help her patients in their recovery to have a good day when she is working. Joan always has a smile on her face. Joan is the definition of a true nurse. I couldn't think of anyone more deserving than Joan.
***
She is always putting patients first and always makes them feel important. Joan is a great coworker because she is so helpful and is always willing to drop what she's doing to assist you.
***
Joan is so caring and thoughtful. She always puts the patients first and is willing to put in the hours and help.
***
Joan always puts the patients first. She is a very caring nurse and always looks for the best in her patients and coworkers. Joan is always willing to help out her fellow coworkers when needed.
***
Joan goes above and beyond to help the unit, her patients and her coworkers. She often stays late to help "finish up" with a patient and she is the first one to step up if a hole needs filling in the staffing roster. She often volunteers to help clean up the messiest of messes even if they aren't from her patients. She will work for hours to find comfort for her patients and get their needs met. She always finds the time to sit and visit with patients even if she has a laundry list of other tasks that need to be done. She wants the very best for the unit. She has often brought in treats for her fellow coworkers, and sometimes shows up 1-2 hours after her shift with bags of candy and wonderful ice cream treats! This always seems to brighten staff faces and put them in a better state of mind. Joan has given many years to this organization and has not been recognized for her extraordinary work she has been doing. Joan is an outstanding nurse, friend and coworker and I feel she epitomizes the DAISY Award.
***
Joan is the nurse you want as your nurse or the nurse for your loved ones. She has a broad base of experience and is very knowledgeable. She is always willing to help anybody with anything. Patients identify her kindness and compassion to us (her peers) on a daily basis. They will tell of small or big thing that she helped them with or did for them. Not only is she good to patients, she is so good to her fellow staff members. She picks up a lot of the needs on the unit, she is willing to come in early or stay late to help you out. She takes her peers into consideration at the holiday times and is willing to work so her peers can have the holiday off, even though she has family she would like to be with too. Her line is "but they have children, you should be with your children" Joanie always is so appreciative for anything you do for her. She worries about her peers -brings us treats and candy almost every day she works. She is very humble and never really expects recognition for what she does. Yes it is her job but she always does it so well, stay and make sure it's all done and she does the extra things too. If anyone deserves the DAISY Award its Joanie.

Joan is the kind of nurse that you would want to care for you. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience. She is kind, caring, and compassionate to patients and coworkers. She ensures all of her patients' needs are met all the time. I frequently hear patients talk about what an amazing nurse Joan is and the exceptional care she provides.

Joan is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. She cares for her patients and coworkers as if they were part of her own family. She goes above and beyond every day to help others. She is often observed helping patients and coworkers help and frequently "saves the day" on our unit by picking up extra open shifts. She always thanks others and brings treats in for her coworkers. She is a kind soul and our patients often talk about how much they appreciate her extraordinary care. She sees the good in every person, no matter who they are, what they've done, etc. She never received the recognition she deserves and I feel this DAISY Award would be a wonderful way to recognize Joan.
