A patient called to say thank you to staff nurse Jody Knauss for being so patient, thorough, kind and compassionate.

Jody assisted him on 7/21 after encountering him in the South entrance lobby. He was very upset and quite verbal, as he had just spent the previous hour and a half waiting at the Secretary of State for a Handicap Parking Permit --- only to find that the application did not have the PA’s provider ID number on it. When he left the Pain Clinic the day before, he was sure that HFWBH addressed all his needs, even the need for special parking considerations. He did not regret driving from Kentucky for his care at HFWBH.

But today was a different story… waiting at the Secretary of State for an hour and a half and then finding out that more info was needed. Driving to the Pain Clinic and nobody at the desk. How frustrating!!!!! Until he approached Jody. Jody saw how upset he was, noticed that the Pain Clinic was closed, and took the time to help him. She listened to his story and looked at his forms. Jody contacted the department manager and was given the contact number for the PA. Ultimately, there was no answer from the PA, but Jody persevered. She walked over to the Physician’s Village and was able to obtain the PA ID#. She was able to complete his form. He left HFWBH very happy and was able to obtain his parking permit. Jody left a huge impression on him and represented HFWBH in a way that makes us all smile – AT HENRY FORD, WE CAN!

When it comes to kindness, it’s not an isolated incident for Jody.
