John was my father-in-law’s nurse in his final days, and in fact, he was the one in his final hours as he was out in hospice. John went above and beyond and showed true compassion towards my father-in-law in his final hours. John was there to make sure he remained comfortable. He was always checking in and making sure his last hours were as smooth and painless as possible. When it was time to remove my father-in-law from BiPap, John was the one to do so, and when the mask finally came off, he told him, "He was free." From there, John made him his priority till the end of his shift and then made sure the nurse who took over for him was going to take just as much pride and passion in the remaining time that my father-in-law had that he had done. I cannot say enough about the amount of comfort he brought not only to my father-in-law but to us as a family in truly one of the hardest times. He is what all nurses should be, and his compassion and true caring demeanor is something that was unmatched. If our family was ever in a situation like this again, John would be the one I would want to help our family. He is one of the of the best.
