In every appointment we have met, I have felt cared for, supported, respected, given hope, listened to, and valued.
Since being out of hospital, I had not made much progress in recovery. Things started to feel like they were getting desperate. Months passed and we were getting nowhere and I was starting to lose every hope of my future. Then we received an email. It was a very nice email from John Stewart, a consultant nurse for eating disorders, offering us an appointment with him for that Friday after he found out things had been quite tricky recently. Fast forward a couple of months, and I feel extremely lucky that I have been able to see him every week. In every appointment we have met, I have felt cared for, supported, respected, given hope, listened to, and valued. Not only has he greatly assisted in giving momentum to my recovery, but he has also given me the opportunity to be listened to. My favourite thing about John is either his creative thinking, determination, or kindness......All I can say is I feel so extremely lucky and grateful that I met John, for he has changed my life and given me hope.
