Juan was my father's nurse after he had coded and was revived. My father was assigned Juan because of his ability to assist with the dialysis machine, although my dad was on a ventilator and unresponsive. Unfortunately, my father's body could not handle the dialysis and we had to discontinue treatment. Ultimately, we had to make the decision to remove him from life support. Juan assisted us during this time and ensured my father was still taken care of with love, knowing he had a limited amount of time left on this earth. He made sure my father received the best care until his last breath. My sister and I are grateful to Juan for making such a difficult decision less traumatic by his caring and nurturing nature.
