Karsen, who had a full team of patients, went above and beyond and took her lunchtime to take a patient to ICU to see his wife. She had to gather help and orchestrate between two units to make this happen. She showed empathy, compassion, and determination to help the patient see his wife for the first time since their accident. Later in the shift, we got a call from ICU to inform us that the wife was possibly not going to make it. So, what if that was the last time he saw her, and what if Karsen hadn't been such a Rockstar nurse and he didn't get to see her?
