Kate helped examine and support my friend (a victim of sexual assault), and she is absolutely amazing. She was so empathetic, supportive, and validating. Not only did she talk my friend through every aspect of the procedure and paperwork, but she took multiple opportunities to ensure her comfort.

My friend was in a state of emotional duress during this time, and I could visibly see her calm down and feel more relaxed as Kate worked with her. My friend later told me how comfortable and validated she felt after being cared for by Kate. Kate communicated options to my friend very calmly and clearly, which helped and encouraged my friend to make decisions that were best and most comfortable for her. Kate asked if she was comfortable very consistently and offered a break to her numerous times if she needed a few minutes for companionship or privacy.

Kate has a very positive and approachable attitude, and her bedside manner is so inspiring and comforting. She is truly unlike any other nurse I have met, and she made my friend’s experience a lot easier as well as my experience as a support person easier in knowing how to help support such a traumatic and difficult situation. She has an incredible heart and talent in this field, and she is beyond deserving.
