My daughter has endured a painful medical condition for many months without relief. She has had a lot of difficult interactions with medical professionals and came to this hospital doubting that anyone could help her. Kathleen is the most responsive nurse we have come across anywhere - ever. She was able to help my daughter find hope during a really difficult situation, and she spent as much time as my daughter needed to explain and clarify what was happening. She went so far as to sketch out some ideas on a whiteboard to help her develop a more hopeful frame of mind about her illness and her treatment. She was more successful at getting our daughter to both listen and to feel heard than we were.

At the same time, Kathleen paid careful attention to the rest of us going so far as to track us down when we had left the room in order to make sure we could meet with a doctor she thought might be of help to us. Kathleen is efficient, kind, compassionate, a thorough listener, and an amazing advocate for her patients. She left our daughter and her entire family feeling cared for and is a huge part of the reason that this particular medical experience has been a positive one.
