On the worst day of my life, Katie was caring and compassionate, offering comfort over my dad's passing and she was caring and respectful of everything happening with my mom.
Katie was with us the first day my mom was admitted to the ICU. My dad was at Ava's house dying from a short battle with pneumonia. That day, within moments of my dad's passing, my mom took a life-threatening turn for the worse. Katie was calm in the situation and notified the necessary people to evaluate my mom.
Within two hours my mom was having an emergency craniotomy. Katie remained vigilant with getting my mom ready quickly for surgery. But what really stood out was her compassion for me and my family. On the worst day of my life, she was caring and compassionate, offering comfort over my dad's passing and she was caring and respectful of everything happening with my mom.
She took time to explain to me everything that was happening. My mom had a long stay in ICU and Katie had been our nurse many times. Every time she was with us, we felt a sense of calm and peace. She continued to take the time to educate us. I loved how she talked so personally with my mom despite the fact that she didn't respond.
It is obvious that Katie loves what she does and truly cares about her patients. She was a huge blessing in an unbelievable hard time in our lives. My mom passed away exactly one month after my dad passed. I was grateful to have Katie as her nurse through some very dark days.
