He called back later to say that Kayla had given him “the best experience he had ever had at Bryan, wanted to bless her, and thank her for the time and effort she put into my care.”
Whenever the need arises for extra assistance or direction, Kayla is never afraid to step in and offer guidance. One afternoon in July, the Infection Prevention team was notified by the floor staff about a very anxious COVID-positive patient. He was asking many questions about Bryan’s COVID policies, and his disease process, and overall was looking for reassurance to help calm his growing fears. Kayla immediately stepped in to help this patient.
After spending a considerable amount of time answering each and every one of his questions, and coordinating his bed movement with both beside nursing staff and Interventional Radiology, she gave him her direct number to the IP department to call with further questions. He did use this number to call several times, and she always dropped whatever she was doing to provide him with the answers he was seeking.
