I have noticed Kaylie giving 100% daily. She is such an amazing representative for Hillcrest. She always passes her meds on time, listens genuinely to patients, deals professionally with conflicts, and goes the extra mile in providing patient care.
For example, she had a patient who had a history of noncompliance and was homeless. Kaylie was getting him ready to be discharged, but he was antsy to go. He started to walk away before she had given him discharge instruction, so she kindly intervened and said, "Please wait 15 minutes so I can get you your medications for the next month free of charge from the pharmacy because I'm afraid your condition will worsen quickly without them." The patient refused because he was so ready to go. So, Kaylie quickly came up with an idea and said, "Let's make a deal - I will run down to the pharmacy and meet you in the circle drive, so you're not inconvenienced."
He agreed, but Kaylie had a feeling that she would need to be fast or he would leave without his meds. She literally ran from 4H to the pharmacy (outside because it was a more direct route, in the cold weather) to pick up his meds in person and then ran to the circle drive. It couldn't have taken her more than 8 minutes. He never showed up and it broke her heart. Kaylie Stone will go to great lengths for her patients. She cares more about her patient than they care about themselves. I am inspired by her.
