The following is a letter from a patient that was homeless when she came in to the ED. She did not want to call her family member so Kevin intervened and called for her and it had a wonderful outcome.
RN Kevin and Staff,
I just wanted to thank you for calling my mother-in-law and also for the great care you and your team gave me on that Monday. I was hurting not just physically but emotionally, mentally, any way a human body and soul could hurt. It was nice to know someone cared. Healing has been on going, bruises heal easier than emotional scars. Not something new to me though. God works in our lives in mysterious ways as we travel through life. As much negative forces try, positive ones override. I always say God holds that Ace of hearts and trumps the devil every time. I was truly blessed that day and wanted to just say Thanks to Kevin and the ED staff.
