She truly cares about her employees and the care we provide to our patients.
Where to start when you talk about Kim? There are so many good things to recognize! First and foremost, she is one of the hardest workers I have had the pleasure of working with in my career and definitely one of the hardest workers on the units. Her work ethic is one to strive for. Kim is pretty much on-call 24/7 to deal with patient issues, staffing, employee issues/problems, or just questions. She is always available and willing to help. There have been many times that she comes in at a moment’s notice to work on nights and weekends that she is not required to work, to lead, be charge, staff/take patients, or be of assistance in any way she is needed. It is assumed that this is often times when she is probably not being compensated for it and she has a smile on her face and uplifting words to help our morale. She truly cares about her employees and the care we provide to our patients.

Kim is always available to listen and give words of encouragement. She loves to celebrate our accomplishments (new house, baby, graduation, etc.), hard work, and years of service. She is always bringing in treats, cakes, breakfast, coffee, and other goodies that she buys on her own dime to let us know how much she appreciates us! At a time when morale has been at a low, Kim has always been present and made us feel valued!!

Kim is the reason that I have stayed here at Mercy, along with our supervisor, because of their amazing leadership!! She leads by example!! Even with very young children at home and missing out on moments that no parent should, she comes in with a smile and puts her unit’s needs above her own so that we can safely function at work. She comes in early to be present for all shifts and stays late without question when it is needed. Kim is a model of the Mercy values of service, excellence, and stewardship! She is the best leader that I have encountered at Mercy in my 10+ years of service!! Thank you for being you, Kim!!
