Kristel and another nurse worked seamlessly together while providing complex, highly technical and constant care for our friend and neighbor, during his time in the ICU.
Even in the fast-paced environment of the ICU, their compassionate and caring natures were always evident. Kristel had the additional responsibility of mentoring the other nurse. They both handled this teaching situation with the utmost of professionalism and confidence which was reassuring for family and friends.
Amidst their non-stop patient care over the shift, they both found time to ask how they could be of assistance to me. Providing a comfortable chair and a warm blanket, both of which were greatly appreciated. A special act of thoughtfulness and compassion.
It was unfortunate that our friend did not get the opportunity to thank these two truly compassionate young women, who worked with such dedication to caring for him in his final days.
Their dedication to providing this level of service ensured that his out of state family was able to be with him for closure.
