She took time out of her busy schedule to do some research and came back three times to discuss and explain my options. These discussions helped me settle down and make a decision
The doctors prescribed three new medicines that I thought might interact or might have an effect on the medication I was already taking. I was really upset because I had a reaction to a medication in the past, developing Rhabdomyolysis and nearly dying. I was also upset because different doctors were recommending different dosages, from the lightest to the strongest.
I looked up the medications and dosages, along with the side effects. I told Nurse Laura Edmunds what I had read and I was very concerned. She took time out of her busy schedule to do some research and came back three times to discuss and explain my options. These discussions helped me settle down and make a decision to not take the new medicine until I had a chance to discuss it with the doctors the next day. I finally decided to take the lowest dosage and see how my body reacts before increasing the dosage to the maximum, which had been recommended.
I would like to commend Nurse Laura for taking the time to discuss my concerns with me and for demonstrating concern for patients under her care. She didn’t just take the “wait and talk to your doctor tomorrow” attitude, but took action to provide the best care she could provide.
