Today my 21-year-old daughter had to have her gallbladder removed. Laura came in to SAU to speak with her and explain the anesthesia process. I have had multiple surgeries in my life and I have never heard the process explained so thoroughly at a level my anxious daughter could easily understand. Laura was very compassionate and did her best to ease my daughter's concerns. Laura even tried to prepare her for the smell of the oxygen mask so she wouldn't be alarmed when it was placed on her in the OR.
Once she was taken to the OR, and I could no longer be at her side, Laura again showed great compassion. My daughter became very anxious when they placed the oxygen mask on. She was scared and alone. Laura talked to my daughter to help calm her down until the anesthesia kicked in. For all of this I am forever grateful.
