While on lunch, Lauren was walking to a nearby restaurant when she witnessed a multiple-vehicle MVC in the street near the hospital. Lauren went to the scene of the crash to see if any of the vehicle occupants needed assistance. While doing so she discovered that the driver of one of the vehicles was pulseless and not breathing. Without hesitation, Lauren initiated CPR on the patient and was able to attain ROSC after two cycles of compressions. The driver eventually came to the ED as a patient and survived without any deficits of any kind. Lauren's quick thinking and desire to help others, despite being "off the clock", quite literally saved a man's life.
