Lauren cared for my father-in-law twice during his ICU stays here at HMC. She was compassionate toward him, even when he was difficult or demanding, and she showed great compassion to my family during his last hours. Lauren always explained what she was doing and answered questions and cared for the large number of family members present during my father-in-law's last hours. When the time came for my family to say goodbye, Lauren stayed close and grieved along with the family. Her care for her patient was evident in everything she did. Lauren exemplifies what a nurse should be: competent, compassionate, and caring.
