My mother was hospitalized for 5 weeks this summer. She was in ICU on three occasions. My mother had to be intubated 3 times. After having gone through it once, when my mother had to be intubated the second time, she was extremely discouraged to the point where she was considering refusing the procedure. Lauren took extra time to help my mother understand the procedure, as well as how it would assist in her recovery. She explained everything and she talked to my mother as though she were her own mother. My mother called Lauren her "angel". Ultimately, my mother passed away, but my entire family believes that my mother's last days were made better because of the care she received from Lauren and her colleagues in the ICU. I will never forget this wonderful woman. I am truly appreciative for having met her.
