Dr. Rodebaugh has been with the university since 1989 and is a tenured professor. Although this is her last year teaching with the university, the impact she has made on the school of nursing, students and community will last for years to come. Dr. Rodebaugh's impact to the school of nursing is without question. She has served as a mentor to the new faculty, has guided us through the promotion and tenure process and is a resource for our curriculum revision. She has displayed teamwork throughout the curriculum revision by researching different concepts to include and attending every single meeting; always prepared with input and ideas. She is well versed in the university mission and master plan, ensures we incorporate these goals within our new curriculum. Her ideas have helped shape how the school of nursing will look in the future. In addition to mentoring faculty within the school, Dr. Rodebaugh spends even more time to engage with her students. I have seen her office light on late into the evening, in an effort to enhance her lectures or to meet students when they are available. I believe she goes above and beyond to make University of Indianapolis students feel welcomed, and personally works with students to ensure their success. Dr. Rodebaugh has worked with the Honors College students as well. She assists them in finding faculty advisors, follows their projects, and helps faculty understand the Honors College requirements. I have sought counsel many times in managing these students, and she is always available to help me. One of the requirements within nursing is to obtain CPR certification. Dr. Rodebaugh helps make this requirement easier by offering her services as an instructor for both students and faculty; one of two instructors within the SON unit. She has offered multiple CPR sessions throughout the year to incoming students, recertification, faculty and now the Music Therapy students. She selflessly comes in to offer this certification to students and faculty during the summer, before the semester begins. Finally, every year student move in day is upon us Dr. Rodebaugh never fails to volunteer for this opportunity. She enjoys being with the students in their excitement to move to the university, and always has a smile on her face at the end of the day! All these activities are in addition to the requirements of faculty; which include committee work, teaching load, and regular school meetings. Dr. Rodebaugh has made an impact on the community as well. She has spent many years serving as a pediatric nurse for both Riley Hospital for Children and St. Francis. Her passion for children has not gone unnoticed, as she serves as a volunteer for Camp Healing Tree and Caterpillar kids. These camps serve children who are grieving the loss of a loved one (ages 5-17), and Dr. Rodebaugh strives to make a lasting impact on their lives. An additional pediatric service to the community is the well-known Riley Dance Marathon. Dr. Rodebaugh leads the University of Indianapolis fundraiser to raise money for children and family at Riley Hospital for Children. Throughout the years, I have seen Dr. Rodebaugh display a passion and empathy for students and the community unlike any other faculty. She has inspired me to volunteer in my community, and to strive to make an impact on those around me. She has personally guided my promotion and tenure journey, and her efforts and input are highly regarded. It is her love for the profession, students and community that I strive to mirror my teachings by. Dr. Linda Rodebaugh is a magnificent person, faculty, mentor and friend.
