Lisa stepped forward and made an unbelievable difference in our mother's care. We simply want the hospital to know the kind of nurse, employee, teammate and staff member (they have) who makes a difference in a patient's life and truly reflects that Advocate Condell Medical Center is a superior medical and healthcare environment.
After our fourth hospitalization in eleven weeks Lisa understood that the multiple physicians and the complexities of the case made communication and our understanding difficult and we as a family needed to be sure that the entire healthcare team was on the same page.
At one point Lisa overheard our struggle in scheduling a surgical consultation for mom, to remove a lymph node that contained metastatic cancer. This was due to the many hospitalizations and now finally the infections, so our efforts to remove cancer from her body had been hindered. Lisa did not settle instead she advocated for the surgeon to come and see Mom as a "consult". As a result, not only did the surgeon see mom that day, he scheduled the lymph node removal the next day. Can you imagine how thankful we were that the surgery would not be further delayed?"
Lisa is exceptional in her communication of caring, medical knowledge, multi-tasking ability, energy, and her attention to detail. She was the most incredible nurse we have had the fortunate opportunity to encounter in over 30 years as a family. "Wow" does not do justice to her ability and her impact on her patients' lives.
