I strive to develop her patience, knowledge, and drive as I continue in my nursing career.
From a Patient: From the minute I met Lisa, she has been so helpful. She has made sure that I have gotten my prescriptions and refills without any hassles at all. She has helped coordinate second opinions with out-of-state hospitals. She calls me just to see how I am doing, even after hours. She checks on me every time I come for my chemo. She always has words of encouragement. She has taken a lot of the worry and stress of having cancer off me. It seems I rely on her a lot. Lisa was in the emergency room with an emergent problem but she called me while in the ER to discuss a problem that I was having. She is such a gem. Your hospital is blessed to have such a wonderful employee.
From a Co-Worker: I joined the oncology outpatient clinic from the inpatient bedside at UK. The flow, atmosphere, and daily tasks differ quite a bit. There was not anyone to learn from per se, because my position was brand new. Lisa Stump stepped up to help me 100%. She taught me the EMR, clinic flow, and documentation. She offered support and encouragement. Almost 1 year into this position, I can say I would be drowning if it weren’t for Lisa. Lisa has treated me with respect and kindness. She has shown me how to effectively help patients that I do not see every day. Lisa leads by example. She goes above and beyond for her patients. She works late when she doesn’t have to. She goes to great lengths to attend to every patient's needs. The oncology patients and team are blessed to have such an honest and caring nurse. I strive to develop her patience, knowledge, and drive as I continue in my nursing career.
From a Manager: Lisa is the living definition of a compassionate nurse. She puts her patients first no matter what. We get so many compliments for the care that she gives. The only complaint is that the patients state they wish they could have met her sooner. She has been a navigator for only a short time but has made an incredible impact on her patient's lives (and their families) She will go sit with them during a procedure and have lengthy conversations, both in person and on the phone. She makes herself available to her patients 24/7. She also goes out of her way to help her coworkers in any way she can. It may even mean staying late but she’s always right there to lend a helping hand.
