Beginning Sunday, mom's condition deteriorated very quickly. She began having complications, the origin of which was not immediately known. Lynn was her nurse and she began to proactively manage her care. She closely monitored our mother's vitals, proactively recommended testing and then communicated to the doctors - both our concerns and hers.
When the shift change occurred and Lynn was back, she immediately jumped into action. She again took charge during what were three very scary hours. Her concern was obvious as she worked with the doctors to triage the situation. She then expedited all the orders she could.
Lynn also communicated with the family the need for boundaries and was strict with regard to seeing that mom got the quiet time she needed. Lynn exuded confidence with regard to her knowledge and her actions. We felt that we had an advocate in Lynn. Her level of professionalism never wavered while providing exceptional care.
