She said that she was very tearful and Madi spent extra time "just being with me while I was so sad".
After rounding on a patient, a nursing leader had this to say: Madi was recognized by a recent patient for providing extra emotional support. Our patient said that she has four children and had heard from all but one of them, checking on her while she is hospitalized. She said that she was very tearful and Madi spent extra time "just being with me while I was so sad". Then while Madi was in the room to do a procedure, the patient’s son called. Madi stopped the procedure so that her patient could have time with her son who is stationed in Japan. When I gave Madi the recognition, I love that she responded, "I got emotional too, it was a touching moment." I love that Madi connected so deeply with this patient that she became invested and shared such a beautiful moment with our patient.
