I consistently have pain troubles and I'm awakened in the middle of the night as a result. Maeve would give me what treatment she was able to and on several occasions spent time with me, allowing me to talk and ask questions. On one occasion she spent two hours with me because not only did I wake up because of pain, but I also was having trouble sleeping because my best friend had passed away recently and I couldn't make it to the funeral since I was here in the hospital. I was going through a lot of grief and all the other emotions that go with that type of situation and she took the time to allow me to talk, gave me what advice she could and was just wonderful helping me get through that night. If it wasn't for her compassionate heart and care, I don't know if I would have gotten through that night without losing it.
Maeve demonstrated the most professional and honest care I have ever experienced from a nurse and I believe she deserves to be recognized in some way for how consistent she is with her care and compassion. She went out of her way to not only help me with the physical pain I was in but also the emotional pain I've been going through. She is 100% grade "A" as a nurse and also a very caring person with really noticeable and genuine care with a big heart. I would recommend her to train other nurses and students on how to treat patients going through what I was going through. She exemplifies what Rush strives to do for every patient in Rush's care.
