I felt like Marcel treated me like her own family member and did all the best she could to help me in any way. She is a blessing from above.
Marcel is an excellent example of what people in the nursing field should strive to be. Her professionalism and compassion for our patients and their families continue to impress and inspire me to come to work every day. She has been an RN in 5 South since 2018 and she became an RN III last year. She always comes to work with a positive attitude and is ready to help her coworkers and our unit to be survey-ready every day. There is not a single day that you can see her unmotivated to work. She always wears a smile on her face and her enthusiasm and energy are very contagious. Whenever a patient or a coworker calls for assistance, she is always willing to help them and always responds in a respectful manner. I have not heard or received a single complaint from anybody on the unit, only beautiful words about her.

Marcel as an RN III, makes sure to take care of all the issues and concerns of the patients and coworkers on her shift. She does audits on staff documentation and makes sure to educate them if she finds any fallouts. One of our patients on the unit gave her a thank you card saying that “Marcel is my angel. She never left me until I had everything I needed. I felt comfortable and safe. She made sure that I had everything I asked for before sending me home. I felt like she treated me like her own family member and did all the best she could to help me in any way. She is a blessing from above”. For me, she is truly a DAISY Nurse for all the things she does for our patients and her coworkers on the unit. Her coworkers see her as a great role model and an inspiring worker.
